Hani Zayadi
Chairman of the BoardMr. Zayadi has held a number of senior executive positions with leading retailers including, CEO of Zellers, Woodwards in Canada; Kmart Australia and NZ; Group Managing Director, Food, Liquor & Fuel Division of Coles Myer Ltd., Australia’s largest retailer and senior VP at Walmart Canada and Future Shop Canada. Mr. Zayadi has also been on numerous corporate and business advisory boards including Retail Counsel of Canada, B.C. Business Board of Governors and International Mass Merchants.
Christopher J. Cann
TrusteeMr. Cann has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cann Consult Inc. since 1994, a company that is involved in the ownership and management of shopping centres. Mr. Cann has over40 years of experience in the banking industry with an emphasis on mortgage lending. During his career, Mr. Cann has held a number of senior management positions including President and Chief Executive Officer of Maple NHA Mortgage Trust from 2001 to 2002, President and Chief Executive Officer of Prenor Trust Company of Canada from1987 to 1994, Executive Vice President of Central Trust Company from 1984 to 1987 and President and ChiefExecutive Officer of Eaton Bay Trust Company from 1981 to 1984. Mr. Cann was appointed in 1972 Vice Chairman of the Trust Companies Association and from 1972 to 1973 served as President of the Trust Companies Institute.
Raymond Cheung
TrusteeMr. Cheung is the Director of Finance for Penguin Investments Inc., (formerly the SmartCentres Group of Companies). Prior to joining Penguin Investments Inc., Mr. Cheung was a Director of Restructuring at Prowis Inc., a boutique firm specializing in business restructuring and turnarounds. Mr. Cheung is a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional, Chartered Professional Accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University.
Edward Dato
TrusteeMr. Dato is a financial consultant and was the Chief Financial Officer of Waterfront Toronto from June 2003 to July 2006. Prior to joining Waterfront Toronto, Mr. Dato held various positions including as Vice President Corporate at Canadian Pacific Limited, Chief Financial Officer at Marathon Realty Company Limited and Brookfield Development Corporation and Vice President and Manager at Bank of Montreal. Mr. Dato was a trustee of Sunrise Retirement REIT until it was sold in 2007. Mr. Dato was a former Director, former Chair of the Audit Committee and former member of the Governance and Compensation Committee of Regal Lifestyle Communities Inc. Mr. Dato earned his M.B.A. from York University and is a Certified Management Accountant.
Richard Michaeloff
Trustee, President and Chief Executive OfficerMr. Michaeloff was appointed Chief Executive Officer in July 2010. Prior to the appointment, Mr. Michaeloff served as a Trustee since 2008 and was the Senior Vice President, Finance and Treasury at SmartCentres Group of Companies, responsible for the Finance, Treasury and Corporate Legal Groups since September 2007. Prior to joining SmartCentres, Mr. Michaeloff served as Chief Operating Officer of the El-Ad Group Ltd. Prior to that, Mr. Michaeloff was associate director in the investment banking group at Scotia Capital Inc. from 2001 to 2002. From 1988 until 2001, he served in various capacities atThe Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited, including as Vice President, Corporate Finance, starting in 1996. From April 2008 through May 2012, Mr. Michaeloff was also a trustee of GT Canada Medical Properties Real Estate Investment Trust. Mr. Michaeloff earned his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Western Ontario and an M.B.A. from York University. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
David Schiffer
TrusteeMr. Schiffer is Executive Vice President and Western Portfolio Leader at SmartCentres Group of Companies, responsible for all aspects of the company's development activities in Western Canada and the United States. Mr. Schiffer has held progressively senior development positions with SmartCentres since joining the company in November 1995. Mr. Schiffer holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University.
Andrew Shapack
TrusteeSince September 2012, Mr. Shapack has been a General Partner and Co-President of Mohawk Medical Growth Partners, a private real estate investment firm focused on Canadian medical office buildings. Previously, he founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of GT Canada Medical Properties REIT from August 2008 to July 2012. Prior to that, Mr. Shapack was a principal and the Managing Director of Geneva-Cathay Holdings, Corp., an investment firm engaged in real estate acquisitions and development. Mr. Shapack is admitted to the state bar associations of New York and Connecticut, and was an associate in the Real Estate Finance Department in the New York City offices of law firm Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP. Prior to legal practice, he was an associate in the Real Estate Securitization and Capital Markets Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York City. Mr. Shapack holds a law degree (Juris Doctorate) from the Catholic University of America, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Wisconsin.
Robert Wolf
TrusteeMr. Wolf is a corporate director. Mr. Wolf is the Chairman of C.A. Bancorp (TSX:BKP).Mr. Wolf is also the Lead Trustee and Chair of the Audit Committee of WPT Industrial REIT (TSX:WIR.UN), and is a Trustee of InnVest Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:INN.UN). Mr. Wolf was a director of C.A. Bancorp Canadian Realty Finance Corporation (TSX listed) until April 2011. Prior to March 2008, Mr. Wolf served as Chief Financial Officer of RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust from its inception in 1994. Prior to 1994, Mr. Wolf held a variety of positions in both public and private and public real estate companies. He obtained his Chartered Accountancy designation in 1984 and holds an MBA from The Schulich School of Business at York University and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.
